No matter how jaded the world becomes, for entertainers, there will always be something special about receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. People come from all over the world to find the stars of their favorite artists. It’s still a sign that you’ve reached a certain level in the industry. Sometimes, it takes Black artists a little longer to get these honors, so we’re celebrating these special moments be recognizing the entertainers who’ve recently received stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

If you’re not in the business, or follow these sort of things closely, you may not know that getting a star on the walk of fame costs $75,000. Most of the time, that fee is paid by a production company or movie studio. Sometimes fans or other celebrities will help out to get someone their flowers. That’s what happened with singer Melba Moore, who received a star for Live Theatre/Live Performance. She revealed on Instagram that it was comedian Katt Williams who sponsored her star, writing, “A public thank you to KW He is the sole sponsor of my Star. Katt in me you have a Friend.”
