If you’re not in the business, or follow these sort of things closely, you may not know that getting a star on the walk of fame costs $75,000. Most of the time, that fee is paid by a production company or movie studio. Sometimes fans or other celebrities will help out to get someone their flowers. That’s what happened with singer Melba Moore, who received a star for Live Theatre/Live Performance. She revealed on Instagram that it was comedian Katt Williams who sponsored her star, writing, “A public thank you to KW He is the sole sponsor of my Star. Katt in me you have a Friend.”

It’s wild that percussionist/singer Sheila E. is just now getting a star on the walk of fame. She inspired countless young women to become musicians and was one of the contributors who helped shape Prince’s sound. Watching her play percussion is truly like watching artistic master at work.
